CONVENTION ATTIRE:
We generally follow AFSA convention rules.
OPENING CEREMONY: - on Thursday, 3 April is informal. We have a 50s/60s theme, so please find something appropriate for the evening. However, casual dress is an acceptable dress code for our opening ceremony.
BUSINESS MEETINGS: - it is recommended that all gentlemen attend all meetings in their AFSA Blazers, a business suit, or a sports jacket with a tie. Ladies are requested to wear their AFSA blazers, casual dress or pantsuit. Authorized uniform of the day for Air Force personnel attending the convention in official funded TDY status is the light blue, short-sleeved shirt/blouse (tie/tab not required).
OPTIONAL EVENTS: - it may still be cold in the Hampton Roads area in early April so recommend for outside activities that you bring along a jacket or whatever you feel most comfortable with.
HONORS BANQUET IS FORMAL: Suggested wear for gentlemen is a tuxedo or dark suit for this special function. Suggested wear for Ladies is dress evening wear (long or short). Military members should wear blue mess dress or semiformal uniform. Remember that all past officers can still wear the color blazer under the previous code (prior to 1994) that corresponds to the highest office held.
